I have a damp basement floor. It has small indentations and cracks. I am putting down vinyl flooring and would like to know what type of cement paint or cementcovering to use under the vinyl to keep it from smelling musty and getting damp.

I have control joints in my 6″ thick concrete driveway opening up approx 3/4″ allowing water to freeze and expand worsening the problem. What product/process would you recommend?
October 14th, 2010 at 8:23 am
Thank you for your inquiry.
You need to use our Starflex 105″. It is industrial strength, hard to the touch, but flexible for variations in freeze-thaw cycles. The kit consists of 20lbs of a special aggregate/powder and the can of polyester liquid. Just mix small, equal batches and pour in to joint. Set up time is a few hours.
Please call Jess Warren at 800-473-3796 with any questions.

We have a recently poured (June 2010) driveway and garage pad that have developed some cracks in the seams. Most are less than 1/4″ wide and all are in the grooves (seams) placed in the concrete. I have already applied sealer and waterproof. I was going to use Sikaflex Concrete Repair, but it is caulk type and yours is liquid and would seem to be just what I need. Most cracks are the length of the seem. Some are just gaps, like between the apron and the driveway that were poured separately.

Thank you for your inquiry. Caulks are not recommended. You need to use our latex repair kit. It consists of 40lbs of powder and 1 gallon latex. Mix small batches and work into fine or large cracks. This is best. The cost is $139 plus $35 for shipping via UPS. Please contact Jess Warren if you have additional questions or to place an order – 800-473-3796

I am enclosing a concrete patio and want to install a set of external french doors at one end. The patio was poured with a slope to drain water away from the house. Unfortunately, the door follows this slope (0 to 3/4″ across 6′ door) of the 10′ wide patio. Can I use the ‘pourable liquid concrete’ to establish a level floor under the french door?
March 18th, 2011 at 10:01 am
Thanks for your inquiry. Our recommendation is that you use a trowel down material. We make a latex repair kit that is easy to work with. If you put up a form, mix this product up and place in the area, it will be a more cost effective way to correct this situation. Please feel free to call me at 800-473-3796 to discuss this option. Thanks! Jess Warren

My driveway heaves in the winter/spring conditions and I have a nasty crack with one side higher than the other. Should I wait for the heaving to settle back down b4 application and if so, the crack being now that much smaller, what will the heave do next year?
Thanx
Ken

I have a 3-4″ depression in my concrete basement floor where the clean-out for the sewer line is located. I have begun getting water seepage from around the clean-out. The bottom of the depression in spots is some sand and small stones. There are also some holes on the sides of the depression (in the concrete). The depression is oval shaped 6-7″ long and 3-4″ wide. There is not a lot of room at the bottom of the depression (maybe 3/4″) to fill since the plug to the clean-out needs room the be removed. What product do you have that will fill in the the holes and cover the sand and prevent further water seepage? Thanks.

My home is 70 years old. With the last hurricane rains water was forced into my cellar thru small hairline cracks in the basement concrete floors. What product do you recommend I use to prevent this? Do I have to use a sealer such as epoxy sealer #7300 over the pourable crack repair?

Keep in mind that water “travels”, and may seek another way in if your area is not the source of the leak. Contact Bill Wilson at 800-473-3796 for more information.
